The Fantastic Four: First Steps Ratings & Reviews
- RipLinesManMay 12, 2025Event Horizon (1997) walked so Fantastic Four: First Steps could roller-skate through space in matching blue fits, bro. This ain’t horror-core like the OG space nightmare, but it’s got that same “yo, we prob shouldn’t be out here” energy. Pedro Pascal gives Mr. Fantastic that calm-before-the-wormhole vibe, like Sam Neill before he ripped his eyes out, except this dude’s more stretchy than sketchy. Vanessa Kirby crushes it as Sue Storm, serious face and secret pain, kinda like if the Event Horizon ship had feelings. Julia Garner as Silver Surfer gives off straight-up “I’ve seen death and vibes” energy, just floatin around like she’s heard the screams from the other dimension. The 1960s retro-future aesthetic is fire — way brighter than Event Horizon's blood-slick halls, but still got that cold edge under the glow. It’s not as deep or twisted, but this thing’s got style, stress, and some emotional breakdowns between cosmic punches. Its not a full trip to hell, but def a weird cruise through space with emotional baggage and rock monsters.
- JoelJuly 24, 2025Probably the most visually stunning MCU film to date, cast is great, and a few 10/10 sequences. Everything in space is peak. But this is a very uneven film. Last hour is noticeably weaker than the first, and I don’t think the ending was all that satisfying. And while I mentioned the cast being great, I think some characters (cough cough the thing) have very little to do.
- Marshy5h agoA lot better than expected 👍
- Ty LeetJuly 23, 2025The best part of this movie was the surfing and I’m not even joking.
- hdmediaplex14h agoVery good movie. I really like the graphic design stylized in the 60s which combines modern technology with nostalgia
- landoisniceJuly 25, 20252025 has been THE year for modern filmmaking!I loved every bit of this film.
- Brian Wright15h agoMuch better than expected, after this and Thunderbolts Marvel is finally back.
- AnotherMovieEnjoyerJuly 26, 2025After over two decades of bad movies, we finally have them done right. What a fantastic film.
- russrev1ewsJuly 24, 2025All of my FF cinematic wounds are healed as this movie was truly fantastic (pun 1000% intended)! The MCU might be back guys? 🤯
- Mister Aitch6d agoThe characters were well played and the 60's stylish vibe was a nice touch but it didnt seem to gel well for me. I was very MEH about the story and the bond across the team felt contrived. Galactus was ok but cumbersome So overall rather average tbh. Thought Superman was much better
- Nathan Magreta1d agoVisually beautiful, amazing casting, great humor, and genuinely the best film of the year.
- anishthakare1d agoHoly moly marvel is SO BACKKK!!! Anyway this movie really proved to the world just how effectively marvel can create superhero masterpieces again. Being marvel’s first A-list team in a long long time, this movie perfectly captured who the fantastic four are, space explorers as well as famous scientists and heroes down on earth. The cast brought remarkably great performances for each character, my favourites being Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Julia Gardener. They really nailed the retrofuturistic vibes, making me analyse every single set just because of how interesting they were. I don’t remember the last time literal set pieces had me dazzled. On the topic of visuals, the cgi and cinematography were absolutely perfect. Galactus, silver surfer and the fantastic four’s powers were immaculately depicted. Especially the space sequence at the beginning of the movie. I was at the edge of my seat during that sequence. The visuals, score, and acting came together so perfectly. Every single character had their intense and emotional moments. I’m genuinely so attached to these characters, just like how I was in thunderbolts. I can’t wait for them all to come together in doomsday.
- That_movie_guyyJuly 27, 2025Good movie but expected better. Johnny storm the mvp and sue, silver surfer and galactic were great. Hoping this all leads to better and greater upcoming projects
- DomJuly 25, 2025god baby
- DJMOK7d agoMEH!! kinda boring and story was not the best. why bring in an awesome character like galactus and not show his full potential? its a watch once and move on.
