The Experience Ratings & Reviews
Monkey See! Monkey Review!!
September 21, 2025
I found The Experience to be a slow and uninspiring watch. TLDR -> Slow burn with Feminist/Leftist Undertones….. HARD PASS!!! After about 20 minutes, I was already struggling to stay engaged—it felt like the film was dragging its feet, hinting at something meaningful but never quite delivering. Out of curiosity, I skipped ahead to the final 15 minutes, which gave me a vague sense of the storyline, but not enough to compel me to revisit the parts I missed. While I can’t offer a full critique, I can share my personal “experience”—pun intended. The film felt dull, somber, and lacking in emotional depth. It centers around characters who seem to embody the archetype of troubled, privileged young women, and while that premise could have been compelling, it left me more frustrated than intrigued. I kept wondering: what exactly is the conflict here, and why should I care? Ultimately, the movie failed to draw me in or make me care about its characters or message. Despite its appearance as a film that might explore emotional or psychological themes, it didn’t deliver the impact I was hoping for. If you’re considering watching it, be prepared for a slow burn that may not ignite. Personally, I’ll pass.

Aiming to say something about the meaning of life by way of a series of sleights of hand, this is a film that struggles to find its own meaning. It's an experience that few viewers will wish to repeat.
