- AjayFebruary 24, 2026Based on the play of the same name, The Dutchman is an interesting film, more social commentary than not. The "supernatural" element of it does feel misplaced, but the look into black culture is emotionally charged. Stereotypes are wielded like daggers and put Clay's facade to the test, and it makes for a watchworthy adaption of the play. Also, Kate Mara is spectacular and terrifying in equal measure, as always.

The acting is fantastic and the storyline is extremely interesting👠🎇👠 This movie is definitely worth watching at least one time 🥂

- Corey BurkesFebruary 8, 2026Meh. Shots are wonderful. Actors are great, But the story. Just another extra existential crisis ‘what is/am I a Black man’ prose. It’s my opinion, of course. After 56 years, I know who I am so these stories that feel from the 70s come across to me redundant. Without doing any research or googling, I’m positive this story is a remake or retelling. Feels like it is. Aside from my feelings on it, it’s entertaining enough. So… meh.
