The Descent: Part 2 Ratings & Reviews
- Benjamin Rayner2 April 2026The original Descent was so utterly perfect I was suspicious of the sequel but it's a lot better than it has any right to be. Not as immediately memorable, no, but it holds up for a second viewing precisely because it won't be etched in blood on your mind.
- Kevin Wertz15 February 2026Sometimes you just need to stop after the first movie. This is one of those times.
- Christopher Park11 November 2024An amazing, twistie follow-up to one of the best movies of all time! Love Love Love!
- Ace21424 September 2025Fun movie, gore is watchable and not too unsettling. I liked the iterations and new situation from the first movie.
- cultfilmliker26 January 2026A surprisingly strong sequel! What a creative narrative technique to get them back down in the cave with the tension already turned up The first creature close-ups were certainly a regrettable choice. VFX as a whole was great otherwise tho. Grisly! The water was a nice touch! Idk if I remember that in the original. Which means I should probably rewatch it Why would you try to choke him out instead of, you know, killing him lol Absolutely hilarious that they either learned nothing from or leaned into the atrocious “alternate” twist ending of the first one and double down with this one!
- DigitalDisappointment3 September 2025Absolutely moronic wank fodder.
- M08Y8 February 2026Genuinely decent, but doesn't live up to the original. The Descent: Part 2 is a follow on to (American version of) The Descent. Here we revisit the nightmare caves of the first movie. Whilst I prefer the ending of the British version of the first film, I am glad that this sequel exists. This time around, we follow the rescue team along with two members of the local police force and Sarah to try and find survivors of the ordeal. As you'd expect, things end up going horribly wrong. Will history repeat itself or will our rescue team make it out alive? Once again, the characters are fleshed out enough to follow but not enough to be interesting. The violence/gore is fairly repetitive but a few scenes did genuinely make me uncomfortable which was nice. Whilst a necessity, the suspiciously well lit caves were once again, suspiciously well lit. The audio and visuals were pretty spot on here. The visuals are MUCH better this time around even if the audio is equally as tame as last time.
- ProfSolon17 August 2025I'd love the lore to these movies. It was very fun to watch the first time and just as fun the second time.Surprisingly, I almost never like rewatching movies.
