- jacxcxOctober 25, 2025“A hero can be anyone, even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy’s shoulders to let him know the world hadn’t ended.” One of the most beautiful trilogies ever.
- RvnPFebruary 20, 2026Amazing
- EmilianoFebruary 18, 2026Timeless
- Harish CousalJanuary 3, 2026An ambitious, emotional conclusion to the trilogy. Bane brings scale and menace to Gotham. Not as tight as TDK, but hits hard where it matters. A fitting, powerful farewell
- Spaceman JoeMay 30, 2025Yeah it’s not the best in the trilogy but why do people hate it?
- Tubeman72December 31, 2025Batman has been rehabilitated. And we can consider British filmmaker Christopher Nolan responsible for that. His film trilogy about the bat man can easily be counted among the best film hero spectacles ever shown on the silver screen. Nolan has restored the image of the masked hero with 'Batman Begins' (2005), 'The Dark Knight' (2008) and the thunderous final chord 'The Dark Knight Rises' (2012). And that was desperately needed, because Joel Schumacher had seriously damaged his reputation with the films 'Batman Forever' (1995) and 'Batman and Robin' (1997). The Batman from Nolan's films is more layered, more intense and more human than the Batman we know from previous films and series. He is a man who has to come to terms with himself, who has to show resilience. This trilogy is not about heroism but about the resurrection of a broken man. In 'Batman Begins' we saw how he was formed, in 'The Dark Knight' he fully blossoms in his role as Batman, but we also see the first signs of decline, when Batman takes the blame for the death of Harvey 'Two-Face' Dent, the bigwig in the justice system who few people knew was involved in organized crime. As a result, the anti-crime law Dent Act was passed and Gotham City has been crime-free ever since. Batman/Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) has actually become redundant and has been living as a recluse in his villa for eight years, where he has no contact with anyone, except his loyal butler Alfred (Michael Caine). But changes are afoot and they are heralded by the nimble-fingered thief Selina Kyle (great role by Anne Hathaway), who comes to honor Bruce with a visit and at the same time takes an expensive pearl necklace from his mother. Almost at the same time, the monstrously strong, iron-masked villain Bane (Tom Hardy) enters the scene, carrying out a brutal heist on Wall Street. Commissioner Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) is hot on his trail, but cannot make it without the help of his masked friend Batman. Many old acquaintances in this third 'Batman' film from Christopher Nolan (Morgan Freeman as gadget man Lucius Fox is also present), but also a lot of new faces. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays an endearing role as John Blake, a young, idealistic and ambitious police officer who works his way up to become Commissioner Gordon's right-hand man. Marion Cotillard is Miranda Tate, Bruce Wayne's new love interest. She is a wealthy heiress who finances a green energy project and partners with Wayne Enterprises. Her contribution ultimately turns out to be more important than initially thought. Yet it is Hathaway and Gordon-Levitt who make the most impression in their new roles. Hardy has the thankless task of making Heath Ledger's inimitable Joker forget. An unfair battle that he can of course never win, especially because his metal mask offers little opportunity for expression (and Ledger's was so phenomenal). Still, he impresses, especially with his physical stature; For the first time, Batman - himself seriously weakened - is faced with an opponent who is stronger than him. While he looks like an idiot, he also turns out to be intelligent. How this final chord ends remains, unlike many other superhero films, unclear until the end. 'The Dark Knight Rises' is a more than worthy conclusion to a strong trilogy. Take a seat in the cinema (go to an IMAX theater if possible), because there is a lot coming your way: 164 minutes of thrilling and overwhelming spectacle. The tone is immediately set by the opening scene in which we are immediately introduced to the ruthless Bane, in a breathtakingly shot kidnapping at an altitude of seven kilometers. And there are more of these types of works of art. The great thing about Nolan is that he knows how to provide action spectacle with an emotional layer and make it come to the fore, without it feeling forced. The pain Bruce Wayne feels, Jim Gordon's guilt, Alfred's concern; these are emotions that the viewer also experiences. Partly because of that extra layer, Nolan's Batman trilogy manages to rise miles above the average superheroes and they almost form a genre in themselves. 'The Dark Knight Rises' is the ultimate summer blockbuster. Go see that!
- khurt1December 31, 2025Fantastic movie!
- Edward SchofieldMay 11, 2025Rushed but still great, that cave sequence will always be iconic.
- The Gutter MonkeyFebruary 7, 2025Another better-than-average (and overly-long) Batman film from Christopher Nolan. It's more of a spectacle than the previous entries and it's somehow even more all-over-the-place than the last entry, but it's a fun watch, Tom Hardy's Bane is a memorable villain, and it wraps up the trilogy pretty well. Just try not to overthink the logistics of certain elements of the plot and you should enjoy it.
- remiiDecember 2, 2025Not my favorite of the trilogy but it closes it marvelously.
- munk888December 1, 2025I hadn't watched this in a dozen years. Forgot the twist. Love a Nolan film. Enjoy if a first viewing.
- Manuel FrangisApril 13, 2025I just watched The Dark Knight Rises, and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. This is the perfect ending to one of the best trilogies ever made. It is massive, emotional, intense, and full of moments that make you sit back and just take it all in. Christopher Nolan somehow found a way to tie everything together and still take things to a whole new level. It is not just a sequel. It is a real conclusion, and it hits with serious weight. This version of Gotham feels even darker and more desperate than before. The city is falling apart, and Batman has not been seen in years. Bruce Wayne is broken, hiding from the world, and carrying the pain of everything that happened before. Christian Bale once again delivers a performance that goes beyond the suit. He shows the struggle, the guilt, and the fear. You can feel how tired he is, but also how much he still wants to do what is right. His journey in this movie is powerful and personal. Then there is Bane. Tom Hardy is terrifying in this role. He is calm, calculated, and unbelievably intimidating. Every time he is on screen, you feel the danger. He is not just a strong villain. He is smart, strategic, and completely in control. His voice, his presence, and the way he carries himself make him one of the most memorable villains in any superhero movie. You never really feel safe when he is around, and that tension makes the story even stronger. The supporting cast is incredible too. Anne Hathaway brings something new to the story as Selina Kyle. She is sharp, clever, and way more complex than you expect. Joseph Gordon-Levitt also adds a lot as a young cop trying to do the right thing when the system is falling apart. And of course, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman all bring their usual heart and strength to their roles. Every character matters. Every scene pushes things forward. The scale of this movie is huge. The stakes feel massive, and the action scenes are some of the best in the trilogy. Nolan knows how to shoot chaos without losing control. From the citywide battles to the hand to hand fights, everything is filmed with a sense of weight and reality. The practical effects and real locations make it all feel grounded. It is not just CGI explosions. It feels real. The soundtrack by Hans Zimmer once again delivers. The music builds tension, drives the action, and adds so much emotion. That main theme rises and falls throughout the movie, and it makes even the quiet scenes feel important. Combined with the visuals, it turns the whole movie into a full experience. I give The Dark Knight Rises 5 out of 5 stars because it closes out the trilogy with power, emotion, and meaning. It is not just a superhero movie. It is about fear, sacrifice, and the idea of hope in the darkest times. Overall The Dark Knight Rises is a bold, emotional, and satisfying final chapter. It brings everything full circle and delivers a powerful story about rising when you have nothing left to give. I loved every minute of it, and it reminded me why this trilogy is still the gold standard.
