Where to Watch The Choirboys
- flavo43November 22, 2025The Choirboys is an abrasive, darkly comic ensemble film that follows a tight-knit group of police officers who blow off steam in the most extreme, offensive ways imaginable during their so-called “choir practice.” On the surface, it can feel juvenile, mean-spirited, and wildly outlandish—like a cop version of the worst bar stories you’ve ever heard. So why do I rate it so highly? Because beneath the exaggerated antics, there’s an uncomfortable ring of truth. The behaviour, while pushed for effect, feels closer to reality than most glossy cop dramas would ever dare admit: cynicism, burnout, gallows humour, and self-destruction as coping mechanisms. The cast sells it completely, making the squad’s terrible choices believable, even when you’re cringing. It’s not a flattering portrait of law enforcement, but that’s part of its power. The Choirboys lingers because it suggests that what seems unrealistic might actually be more real than we want to believe.
- Mister ArnMay 24, 2025The characters portrayed in this movie lack qualities that would make them endearing, rendering them unappealing. Spending two hours watching these unsavory individuals engage in reprehensible actions proved rather displeasing. While "The Choirboys" is well-crafted, its tone is excessively harsh and not funny. The book version provided a more enjoyable experience.
