The Cable Guy
Directed by Ben StillerWhen recently single Steven moves into his new apartment, cable guy Chip comes to hook him up—and doesn't let go. Initially, Chip is just overzealous in his desire to be Steven's pal, but when Steven tries to end the 'friendship', Chip shows his dark side. He begins stalking Steven, who's left to fend for himself because no one else can believe Chip's capable of such behaviour.

The Cable Guy Ratings & Reviews
- Kevin WardJuly 1, 2025Somehow I never saw this growing up. It’s probably for the best because this likely would have become a major part of my personality. Had no idea how stacked the cast was beyond Carrey and Broderick either. I mean, Jack Black, Leslie Mann, Owen Wilson, etc. Also didn’t realize it was directed by Ben Stiller who pretty much doesn’t miss in my opinion (Though, excuse me, Mr Stiller, where the hell is Severance Season 2?). Great movie though, that made me nostalgic for the early Jim Carrey era. He was such a wild card, anything could happen on screen.

- 匚卂尺ㄥJanuary 31, 2025Steven Kovak (Matthew Broderick, well known for Ferris Bueller's Day Off), the main character of the film, has "moved away for a while" (AKA broke up) from his girlfriend and buys a new house and decides to book a cable installation. A work-friend recommends to "slip in an extra $50 and he'll give you all of the movie channels for free", so upon the installation, Steven decides to *nervously* ask the slightly mad cable guy known as 'Chip' (Jim Carrey, well known for Dumb and Dumber) to do so, which he accepts and then befriends. Steven soon realises that Chip is a very unstable guy, being brought up as a only-child by a single mother who was out almost every day and loved watching TV (close to addicted). As he starts to enter his social and family life, something bad happens to Steven. Really bad.
