One man's quest to create and protect an idyllic lifestyle in an insular world goes horribly wrong. The barriers created by "Alvin" to keep others away backfire. Alvin becomes trapped, unable to prevent others from encroaching on his world or to protect the things he holds dear. The ensuing events push Alvin to "the Brink" and cause him to resort to the unthinkable.
