Way more fun than I thought it was gonna be. Great effects. Cheesy in the right places and went harder than I thought it was going to. Big recommend for all horror fans. Wild seeing Del Close show up.

Director Chuck Russell's remake of the 1958 B-movie maintains the notion of an all-consuming ooze gorging itself on a small town but infuses it with body horror, fluorescent jelly, and a nothing-is-sacred disaster movie attitude.
Bloody Disgusting
Meagan Navarro
Stunning practical effects work, a great story with great characters, and a huge sense of fun, it's a shame that The Blob doesn't have as big of a following as it should have.
People Magazine
Peter Travers
All we get is sullen Kevin Dillon subbing for Steve and a bigger, nastier lump that bloodies up its victims in stomach-churning close-ups.
Birth.Movies.Death.
Marisa Mirabal
An underrated and gory gem, The Blob deserves its place among '80s horror films to be remembered, and to slide back onto screens decades later after it originally crash landed into theaters.
House Next Door
Eric Henderson
Isolationism and false security are as much the targets of the '88 model blob as hobos and horny jocks.
Popcornworld
David Cornelius
An old story retold with a fresh voice, eager to make improvements where they're needed and unwilling to tamper with scenes that don't.

Surprisingly worthy remake.
KFOR Channel 4 News (Oklahoma City)
Blake Davis
A fun, cheesy remake from writer Frank Darabont, who gets the tone just right.
eFilmCritic.com
Scott Weinberg
While not nearly on par with the original, the remake's a fast-paced and happily gore-soaked little treat.
Reel Film Reviews
David Nusair
...a horror movie that manages to be scary, funny, suspenseful and even a parody of other horror movies.
Flipside Movie Emporium
Rob Vaux
Modest, disposable remake of a less-than-classic original... but dammit, evil Jell-O is still so cool!
