It's a wonderful. If I could only get it to finish playing. IAU be young almost 47 years old and for this to ve a 1947 movie most young people don't Luke these black and white movies. I think they are amazing.
Entertainment Weekly
Caren Weiner Campbell
Grant's turn is thoroughly convincing because he himself appears to be having a terrific time: He's expansive, graceful, and seems always on the verge of chuckling with goodwill.
EmanuelLevy.Com

Cary Grant's suave, charismatic angel is the main reason to see craftsman Koster's sentimental, verbose serio-comedy about a bishop (David Niven) struggling with marriage and funds for new church; A Christmas staple along with It's a Wonderful Life.
Kansas City Kansan
Steve Crum
Holiday classic still charms.
Filmcritic.com
Christopher Null
Its feel-good sentiment ends up drowning the film in saccharine.
Three Movie Buffs
Scott Nash
This is a decent enough movie, well worth a watch, but it falls short of being a true classic.
New York Times
Walter Goodman
Whatever you make of the minor miracles performed along the way, there's no trouble believing that Cary would fall for Loretta or that anybody would fall for Cary.
TIME Magazine
James Agee
It is a big, slick production. The only thing it lacks is taste.
Chicago Reader
Dave Kehr
There must be some excuse for this but I can't imagine what it is.
Variety
Variety Staff
While a fantasy, there are no fantastic heavenly manifestations. There's a humanness about the characters, even the angel, that beguiles full attention.
New York Times
Bosley Crowther
We cannot recommend you to a more delightful and appropriate Christmas show.
Apollo Guide
Brian Webster
A decent little romantic comedy that doesn't possess enough vitality to live up to its accolades.
Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC)
Ken Hanke
Agreeable Xmas comedy with first-rate cast
TV Guide
A warm, sentimental comedy-fantasy.
