The Amazing Spider-Man Ratings & Reviews
- Manuel FrangisApril 15, 2025I just watched The Amazing Spider-Man, and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. This is one of those movies that really stuck with me. It takes a story we all know and gives it a new voice — one that feels more personal, a little darker, and a lot more emotional. Andrew Garfield’s version of Peter Parker is different from the others, and that is exactly why I love it. It feels raw, honest, and real. Right from the beginning, the tone of this movie feels more grounded. It is not just about a teenager getting powers. It is about grief, responsibility, and figuring out how to move forward when everything feels like it is falling apart. Peter is not perfect. He is angry, hurt, and searching for something. And that makes him easier to connect with. He is not trying to be a hero — he is trying to understand who he is and what he is supposed to do with the life he has. Andrew Garfield is incredible in this role. He brings a quiet intensity to Peter that makes every scene feel real. He is awkward, smart, and a little lost, but there is so much heart behind his performance. You can feel every emotion he is going through. When he is swinging through the city, it is exciting. When he is just trying to talk to someone or deal with loss, it is heartbreaking. He nails both sides of Peter Parker. Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy is just as strong. She is smart, independent, and not just there to be the love interest. The chemistry between her and Garfield is one of the best parts of the movie. Their scenes together feel natural. You believe their connection, and that makes everything that happens between them matter even more. It is not forced romance — it is something that builds and feels earned. The origin story is handled with care. We have seen it before, but this one brings a different energy. It focuses more on Peter’s parents and adds a mystery element that gives the story a fresh angle. Uncle Ben still plays a huge role, and his presence is felt even after he is gone. The way Peter starts to become Spider-Man feels more personal in this version. He is not just reacting to one event. He is growing, learning, and trying to find purpose. The Lizard as the villain works well for this story. Dr. Curt Connors is not just evil for the sake of being evil. He has a goal, and there is a sadness to him that fits the overall tone of the film. The visual effects are strong, and the action scenes are intense without feeling over the top. The way Spider-Man moves feels unique, and the camera work during the swinging scenes is really satisfying. I give The Amazing Spider-Man 5 out of 5 stars because it gives us a version of Peter Parker that feels real. It is emotional, thoughtful, and full of heart. It is not just about being a superhero. It is about finding your place, learning from your mistakes, and choosing to help others even when it is hard. Overall The Amazing Spider-Man is a powerful and personal take on a familiar story. It may not be flashy in every moment, but it is honest, emotional, and unforgettable. It reminded me why I love Spider-Man so much.
