- Alex | Pop Culture BrainApril 25, 2025This movie was so dumb and I loved every minute of it. I saw The Accountant 2 so here’s the good and bad without spoilers In case you’re unfamiliar with the first Accountant film It features Ben Affleck as an Autistic savant accountant slash lethal mercenary If that sounds like a lot - it is, but that’s also what made it interesting The Accountant had this basic thriller structure but then all these unusual and unique choices layered in The sequel definitely tries to continue that tradition Specifically, by exploring the relationship between Affleck’s character and his brother played by Jon Bernthal Yes, this movie gives you all the expected pot boiler stuff with heightened twists and violent shoot outs But it also lets Affleck and Bernthal star in a buddy action two hander and the movie is most alive when they’re just hanging out Mostly because Jon Bernthal has so much energy and charisma His vibe against Affleck’s stoicism is delightful. The two of them have great chemistry And they get a full emotional arc that felt relatable and satisfying The movie is also pretty funny at times because of Bernthal And maybe most surprising is that this blend of tones from tick tock thriller to action to buddy comedy actually worked. It never felt jarring. That said, a lot of this movie is unintentionally funny with just how absurd and silly it is Like the original, bring an extra large bag to suspend all of your disbelief in We also don't see a lot of the accountant actuallying accounting in this one I missed some of the math nonsense from the original Instead he's kind of just a generic super merc who happens to be really smart And then he and the story rely too heavily on his woman in the chair And the villains are equally generic and vague But bottom line, this is B movie fun done right Thanks to game lead performances that know what kind of movie they're in
- Dad6d agoMore of the same, but if you liked the first one you'll probably like this one. Jon Bernthal seems to be in everything these days
- Watch MoviesJuly 13, 2025I saved and then showed the scene where Ben Affleck said those are my people to my girlfriend because I thought it was cool. Now she says I have to go see some sort of doctor. Anyways pretty good. No trains though.
- Sai | Serial WatcherMay 21, 2025As a fan of the original The Accountant, I came into the sequel with high expectations. While The Accountant 2 doesn’t quite match the tight pacing of the first film, it still delivers on several fronts. The narrative unfolds more slowly this time, which slightly dampens the tension, but the film compensates with a deeper dive into character dynamics, particularly the relationship between the main character and his brother. Their chemistry adds both emotional weight and unexpected humor, offering a fresh layer to the story. The humor, subtle but effective, brings balance to the darker elements of the plot. Overall, while it may lack some of the urgency of its predecessor, The Accountant 2 succeeds in expanding the story’s emotional scope and character depth.
- ZokkiieJuly 12, 2025Not as sharp as the original, but still a decent ride. Affleck slips back into the role comfortably, and the action delivers when it needs to. The plot’s a bit messier this time around, and some emotional beats feel forced, but there’s enough intrigue and slick moments to keep it entertaining. Worth a watch if you liked the first, just manage your expectations.
- evil-cougarsJuly 11, 2025decent movie love the actor adn the comedy and plot were ok
- furhmanJuly 7, 2025Not as entertaining as the first but a good continuation. Good action.

- RipLinesManApril 20, 2025The Accountant 2 and Event Horizon (1997) both explore what happens when men face systems they can’t fully control — one through the cold lens of logic, the other through the fire of cosmic judgment. Christian Wolff operates like a mathematical ghost, eliminating chaos one clean calculation at a time. In contrast, Event Horizon (1997) turns order inside out, unleashing a grief-soaked nightmare that punishes anyone who dares to understand it. Where Wolff is a master of precision — a human ledger balancing blood and justice — Captain Miller is a reluctant guardian pulled into a ship that converts regret into torment. Both films feature haunted men and broken teams: one tries to restore order through violence, the other watches helplessly as order dissolves into screams. In The Accountant 2, resolution comes at the end of a muzzle flash. In Event Horizon (1997), there is no resolution — only revelation. One leaves the world a little cleaner. The other leaves you uncertain if you’re still part of it
