Simple and brutal. Thornton have nothing to say but his mimic says everything. Also i missed a little plot

It was both so cool and so cliche. A true body horror movie but with all the wrong typical things from terrible movies like Scream and Halloween. It could have been so good but the cliches really drags it down.

Please welcome Art the Clown! This is the first real glimpse of Art that we see as he is the new actor behind the mask. Even though this is the first movie for the new actor David Howard Thornton, you can tell right away he's a natural at playing the role. Art doesn't speak a word and his meme theatrics are executed to perfection. It makes watching a scary movie actually fun, which is hard to believe. Yes, there is lots of gore, but it's not as scary knowing Art is natural-born comedian who plays a part of a deranged man in a clown outfit. The storyline was good, but the later movies are even better. You have to start with this movie first, then watch Terrifier 2 and 3 after this and you'll come to enjoy the series much more. Who knew a scary clown would be so much fun? Thanks!

Mediocrity abounds in this lame slasher/torture flick that executes both those genres pretty poorly. This is more a practical effects spotlight than an actual horror film.

Very Gory Horror, not really scary, just gory

More than horrible, it's gross and gory. Horror does not always mean blood

Eh, it passed the time. I don't know what I was expecting, but those of you with more common sense should hopefully know what's in store for you: mindless killing and gore. Not my cup of tea, really. The acting was awful for most of the characters, save a small handful.

Legit one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen and not in an entertainingly bad way

Terrifier is what happens when a horror director decides fear is just another emotion to exploit, ignoring every ethical warning—kind of like Miles Dyson thinking he could build Skynet without consequences. Art the Clown isn’t the T-1000, but he’s got that same blind faith in his own terror, while the town is less a safe haven and more a ticking time bomb. Sarah Connor would be the first to point out the warning signs, but everyone else is too busy chasing thrills to notice. The T-800 would be reading the script, and the T-1000 would be the only one who could survive the scares. The movie feels like a real-world version of Terminator 2, except instead of a robot apocalypse, it’s a horror apocalypse. The jump scare happens not because of a malfunction, but because the people in charge ignored every red flag, every expert, and every rule in the book. Hasta la vista, baby — because if Dyson, the T-800, the T-1000, Sarah Connor, and Art the Clown all argued over who gets the last scream, John Connor would be the only one left to actually survive the final jump scare. And honestly, at this point, I’d just let the T-1000 have it. That motherf***er can bleed mercury, man—let him scare himself.

Unlike its sequels, this first Terrifier is a generic exercise in gratuitous displays of blood and gore. It lacks the depth and charm that the sequels so surprisingly introduce, as well as any characters to really fall in love with and root for. Watch it if you must, but be advised: the sequels are better.

The clown character is certainly very original, and although I'm not a fan of gore, I even found it amusing (I can't believe I wrote that).

A bit too cliche for me. It is very gruesome though, with some nice kills.
