Sean Baker films always have a documentary feel to them — unfiltered aesthetic with an unflinching camera capturing people and places not typically featured on the big screen. That style is particularly prevalent in this film as it’s shot completely on iPhone. (Iphone 5s if google is to be believed). Mya Taylor and Kitana Kiki Rodriguez are magnetic and though the chaos and drama of their lifestyle propels the film, it’s really at it’s best when the two of them are sharing in the quieter moments, especially that final scene.
