Artem, a talented young scientist and experimental physicist, meets Misha, an orphanage pupil. The teenager is obsessed with the idea of seeing his native village, the memories of which are captured on a single videotape. A chain of random events leads new acquaintances to a village house, where the boy meets with his early childhood, and the scientist sees the prospects of his discoveries in science in a new way and gives the teenager a purpose in life, infecting him with a love of science.
