- cultfilmlikerApril 20, 2025i mean you just can’t put into words how perfect this film is. Once you press play, you are entranced for 90 minutes straight. The story is incredible and timeless. The acting is extraordinary (Janet Gaynor has one of my favorite performances of all-time). And the direction / production is a goddamn triumph. Such wonderful pacing! Almost 100 years later and it’s still one of the greatest films ever made, even before considering how influential it has gone on to become. Pure proof of cinematic excellence in the silent film era. The greatest love story of all-time. So heartbreaking. So thrilling. So evocative. So perfect. Sometimes it feels good to let love set in lol AND features one of the most handsome pigs of all-time
