- "THE MOVIE FANATIC"December 29, 2025This sequel is just a TV Movie version of the OG. With none of the magic, subtlety, suspense, eerieness & creepiness of that original film!! While there are things in it that I really liked and appreciated. Such as they went for something totally different, in how he gets his visions and not through meditation again...I thought that was a smart move. Also I thought that "Rob Lowe" did a really decent job as our lead character of the film. He's not on the same level as Kevin Bacon from the 1st one not even close, but he did really well with the material...considering with what he was given. Overall the movie was very weak & lacklustre in comparison to the original film. The scares aren't nearly as effective and as well done. You don't really care about any of the side characters either...none of them standout there all very forgettable. Finally I appreciated the fact that they went for the more darker and bleaker ending in this!! However it doesn't hit you from an emotional perspective...not nearly as much as the first one. Even though that ending is a lot more hopeful than this sequels ending.
