Mario Van Peebles stars as an android killing weapon designed by the military and utilized to enter into a Latin American war to destroy the rebels - natives fighting simply to maintain their freedom. Contrary to his programming, he develops an affinity for the villagers and decides to help them fight back. This lets his creators bring him back and ultimately leads to one of them being given more powerful circuitry to defeat him.

Still a fun watch even almost 30 years later. Mario Van Peebles is in peak physical form for this role and he does a truly decent job with it. Adrian Brody is great to see as always and plays an interesting character crucial to the story. The effects are what you expect from anything in the nineties and early oughts without the incessant CGI crutch. It holds up to this day, unlike many others that wanted to be front and center with the beginnnig of the CGI boom. This is a great action/adventure/AI movie that might be more fitting into the current zeitgeist than when it was originally made. Give it a shot. It's got heart. Keep expectations in check and have fun with it.
