- Rob MacKinnonFebruary 11, 2026When I saw this in the theatre when I was 11, I thought it was hilarious and awesome. I got the soundtrack on cassette and played it over and over as I recreated the final showdown with all the big rigs and police cars with my Hot Wheels and Matchbox toys. The movie, however, does not live up to my nostalgia. It’s entertaining enough in spots, but overall I found it unfunny and a bit repetitive. The Bandit is kind of a selfish jerk in this one. Still, the ending set piece remains impressive.
