Sleepy Hollow Ratings & Reviews
- The Movie Hater11 april 2025I hate movies. This one is no exception.
- Richard25 oktober 2025Streamed it, expected camp, got a gothic fever dream with real bite. This one surprised me. Tim Burton leans hard into atmosphere, crafting a fog drenched, blood spattered fairy tale that’s equal parts mystery, horror and visual poetry. Johnny Depp plays Ichabod Crane as a squeamish, science-minded constable dropped into a village where superstition isn’t just alive, it’s galloping around headless. The cast is stacked: Christina Ricci, Miranda Richardson, Michael Gambon and Christopher Walken as the Hessian Horseman, chewing scenery without saying a word. The production design? Peak Burton, twisted trees, candlelit corridors and enough mist to fill a dozen Hammer films. It’s not subtle, but it’s stylish. The kills are theatrical, the lore is layered and the whole thing feels like a haunted storybook brought to life. I went in expecting something hokey and got a film that’s weirdly elegant, darkly funny and surprisingly rewatchable.

- josiahbondy15 juli 2025my favorite movie of all time. 5 stars!
- ርልዪረ2 februari 2025An excellent movie with a star studded cast - Johnny Depp, Christopher Walken, Christopher Lee and Ian McDiarmid (Senator Palpatine in all of the Star Wars films). The film is quite refreshing as it uses stop motion and isn't plastered in CGI effects and it has a real atmosphere to it, set in victorian New York and Sleepy Hollow (a village further down the Hudson). Crane, played by Depp, is sent to the village to investigate some murders there, all of which have been decapitated and their head taken by the villian. When the murderer reveals itself, it turns out to be a headless horseman, the ghost of a slayer (Christopher Walken) who was eventually caught and decapitated. The recent murders have been carried out by himself and his daughter who has been socially rejected from Sleepy Hollow. A great film, good acting and deep atmosphere. I recommend it.
