- theLillyPad16 de outubro de 2025Don't sleep on this classic. Although, like Cinderella, it was created to chase after the success of Snow White, Sleeping Beauty is an achievement of its own. Firstly, the main characters are actually the three fairies, but that distracts from its true appeal. Near the climax of the movie, each character steps away from their personalities and histories and into broad Archetypes. Forget the princess on the cover, this is a movie that applies to little boys, too. It's a story about a noble prince fighting a dragon to save a beautiful princess. And, call it cliche, but we need movies like this again. The damsel in distress trope was overdone at one point, but the girl boss trope which has replaced it is not much better. Regardless, you can pause this movie at literally any point and see an absolutely stunning painting. The colors, the music--Sleeping Beauty is something special.
