My quick rating - 4.5/10. Such a great cast was completely wasted. Sort of like "8MM" in a way, with Rhames little sister being brutally raped and filmed by Oldman for revenge. What for, you don't know initially, but you know Rhames is going to find out, no matter what it takes. And that phrase "whatever it takes" is the biggest problem of the whole movie. We find that Oldman has wanted revenge for YEARS yet when he gets his hands literally on Rhames, instead of putting a bullet in his head, he turns into a Bond supervillain and has to dick around nailing him down on a ladder and lighting the church on fire. You wouldn't want to wait or maybe leave some of the 5 other guys you used to catch him to stay and make sure he dies??? Naw, of course not, otherwise you couldn't drag this flick out for an additional half hour, since that is only ONE of the times this stupidity happens, on both ends. That completely ruined this flick over and over again.

A bleak crime thriller that sinks in its own quicksand.

Lacks the tension and cohesion that might have made it good.

If you're a diehard fan of Gary Oldman's trademark lunacy, consider Sin a must-see.

It's easy enough to see why Sin didn't receive a theatrical release, but on the small screen with lowered expectations, the film works.
