- syntheteJune 1, 2026My favorite 'bad' movie. It is wholly unapologetic in its ludicrous and saccharine flavor, and plays as utterly delightful escapism. Gellar playing it completely straight amongst the general magical realism goofiness makes it work (especially in the "too hot for the Disney channel" PG sex jokes). I don't watch rom coms but once in a blue moon, and I watched this twice. And it would likely be my first pick for a date movie beside "Crazy Stupid Love."
