Silver Linings Playbook Ratings & Reviews
- Vincent ReggianniniDecember 29, 2025This movie has some bright points - acting, writing, completely off-the-wall situations, Jennifer Lawrence’s craziness and - other things. But, this movie is mostly about perpetually annoying people who are just entirely crazy and their weird and off-center behavior that can potentially turn violent and unpredictable at any moment. You’ll find yourself wondering why you’re watching this. Everyone is a mental case - literally. The only stimulating and realistic conversations are between two mental patients and the drugs they take. You’ll feel second-hand embarrassment for the two main characters every 5 minutes. You’ll wonder if it will stop, or if these people will change. Spoiler alert - they don’t, and they won’t. They just need you to sit there in astonishment and watch them come as near to self-destruction as any two human beings can get. You’ll be exhausted 1/4 of the way in and want to stop, but you won’t. You will thank the heavens that you aren’t this crazy, or you will wonder that maybe you actually are that insane but nobody is telling you. 1/2 the way through you’ll beg for what-ever drugs you take to kick in hard and fast. You’ll only stay tuned because you’ll be too busy to hit “Stop” because you’re looking for more drugs to ease the pain these people bring upon themselves. You’ll laugh at their insanity only because it never stops, and you’ll thank the heavens once again that this is only a movie. You’ll look at the two main characters and think “They can only get away with this behavior because they are both physically attractive people, and that if you acted like this you’d have been euthanized year ago”. The bad news is they won’t be, they will just continue being insane. Enjoy!
- Shawn Cropper5d agoFantastic movie!
- gus BoMay 4, 2026Great movie through and through. Two people connected to theor emotions more than the "normal" people around them find each other. They both sought raw unfiltered, non judgemental love. They did. Hilariously blunt and in your face at all times. The diversity of characters all united by a lobe for a game and football and love. A wide range of emotions explored. It has it all.
- mjraw4May 2, 2026Great movie with many intertwined themes such as living with mental illness and how to handle loss and dissapointment, in addition to more traditional themes like love and redemption.
- bella.18April 20, 2026Very funny, worth to watch. The Bradley Cooper-Jennifer Lawrence duo is so real
- sbe86March 22, 2026Good date night movie
- tellumMarch 10, 2026Bradley makes a joke about Ride The Lightning by Metallica, which is even funnier if you know what that song is about.
- gnrrainFebruary 25, 2026This is a pretty rough and callous view of what it's like to live with bipolar. The movie is still good for what it is, a movie. It's entertaining, funny at times. Enjoyed the ending quite a bit. Recommended.
