Learning this, Madvhavi's father, TN Balakrishna, cancels Madhavi's marriage to Murthy. Heartbroken Murthy eventually comes out of mourning and marries his teacher's daughter Geetha, who goes on leave for a year and delivers a baby. Purandara Dasa's rhyme sakala grahabala neene sarasijaaksha (God graces each man much more than the planets ever would) is pronounced as the theme.
