The wartime hospital setting is eerie and fun, even if the mystery itself is fairly straightforward. Rathbone and Bruce are so effortlessly good together that you don’t really mind when the story feels a bit thin. Not top-tier Holmes, but an easy, entertaining watch with a nice gothic flavor
