Sew Torn Ratings & Reviews
- The Gutter MonkeyDecember 3, 2025The Coen bros‑esque crime-gone-wrong energy was cool, but the cartoonish sewing gimmicks were a bit much for me.
- gilligan5000February 18, 2026This movie is proof that something can be absolutely brilliant, and total hot garbage at the same time. I don’t know what I was expecting, but this was worth a watch for the creative way the story is told alone… But it’s weird, and not for everyone.
- Mark B22h agoTaking more than a slight inspiration from Lola Rennt the classic German split timelines film, it still remains a fun romp with complex plotting that manages to not fall flat
- Ricardo MolinaMarch 13, 2026Good movie. Trailer made it look like a horror movie. It is not a horror movie. But overall and entertaining watch.
- vangh1January 14, 2026MacGyver with sewing thread! Maybe MacGruber is more accurate. This movie is absolutely unhinged, and the idea of a protagonist with superhuman levels of sewing thread engineering is ridiculous, but the sequences are so meticulous and the payoffs so satisfying you can't help but get on board. I think the movie works because everyone in universe takes it absolutely seriously and only the viewer is in on the joke. There's just the right amount of pathos. I ALWAYS appreciate when a movie is truly unique, regardless of its quality, and this one is sewn up tight!
- TheGovernmentJanuary 4, 2026Good movie worth the watch
- Mike ShulmanDecember 30, 2025Sew Torn is a very good crime/drama with a bit of comedy mixed in. Definitely about grief and how your reactions to certain situations can cause a butterfly affect moving forward. At times it felt a little self indulgent with the seamtress aspects coming into play but it was certainly a creative way to coreograph the "action" scenes. Eve Connolly is spectacular in the lead role as Barbara emoting grief of having lost her mother recently. We continue to feel bad for her as she makes bad decision after bad decision. She's just that damn good at convincing us that circumstance is responsible for her decisions and not her. The rest of the supporting cast is very good as well notably John Lynch as Hudson and K Callan as the Sheriff/notary/whatever else she is Ms. Engel. It's also interesting how she tells Barbara the story about how she ended up there by "chance" and extenuating circumstances. In the end Sew Torn reminds us that all of the decisions we make can unknowingly cause a ripple affect in our lives moving forward so stop and think hard before you act and don't simply act out of anger/emotion. Honestly I was not sure how they were going to tie everything up and was in the 6-7 (Yes I know) territory but the ending elevavted an otherwise above average story that's been done before. And it's not anything that will blow you away... it's subtle but it will make you think... yeah they got this right. Sew Torn 8/10
