- VarunOctober 19, 2024A completely pretentious hack of a film that gets painfully boring to watch. I don’t find rich people the slightest bit entertaining when they’re just cartoonish characters with no interesting personality whatsoever. Felix does seem to show some complexity at the start of the film but once the story shifts from the school to Saltburn, everything gets very cliche and banal. Venetia also starts off as a promising character but ends up being meh. Certain scenes are just added for shock value to keep the audience’s attention and get them talking about this movie but they’re empty. It’s easy to figure out Oliver’s motives early on, the only thing left to wonder is how far he will go to achieve his desire but I couldn’t care less about his plan because the movie fails to get me invested into any of the characters. The twist ending isn’t really a twist and there’s also just nothing new about this idea. The plot sucks and the movie has absolutely nothing to say about anything. I’m only giving this film 2 stars for the cinematography, acting, song choice and the final dance scene.
- Kevin WardJuly 2, 2025I know people says this a lot, but this time it’s true. The Talented Mr. Keoghan really put his whole Keoghussy into this role. It’s one of the most fearless performances of recent memory. He puts his mouth and his c🤩k in all kinds of unexpected places in service of his infatuation with Jacob Elordi. It is incredibly dark and seductive, bitingly funny. As incredible as Keoghan and Elordi are, Rosamund Pike and Richard E. Grant honestly stole the show for me. Their characters are just hilariously out of touch and every line of dialogue speaks into that. Also, was very impressed (again) with Archie Madekwe, in a character who’s almost diametrically opposed to his role in Gran Turismo from earlier this year—and he kills it. This is a slow burn and may test some folks patience in getting where it’s going, but I promise…you will be rewarded for sticking it out to the end.
- Daniel GustavssonNovember 12, 2024Kind of a unique movie. The acting, especially from the lead actor, is fantastic and the air is just thick with suspense the whole way through. The movie also has some of the most disturbing scenes ever. I'm very used to such things but some of the scenes in this still made me look away in terror. And it's not even a horror movie. I could sadly sense the ending before it came, and some of the connections needed to make sense of this will have to come from your own imagination, but otherwise this movie is great! Especially for the ladies out there I suspect 😁
