Resident Evil: Extinction Ratings & Reviews
- HakihikoOctober 3, 2025Stylish but Shallow "Resident Evil: Extinction" continues the franchise with its trademark blend of action, horror, and sci-fi, this time moving the story into a more apocalyptic, desert setting. Visually, it works quite well - the scorched landscapes, ruined cities, and survivalist vibes give the film a distinct look compared to its predecessors. The action sequences are stylish and often fun to watch, with Milla Jovovich once again carrying much of the film through her presence and commitment. That said, the movie suffers from the same flaws that drag down the series as a whole. The script is thin, with dialogue that often feels forced and characters that rarely rise above clichés. The pacing is uneven, sometimes rushing through moments that could have had more impact while stretching out others unnecessarily. It's enjoyable enough if you're looking for a flashy, popcorn-style zombie action flick, but it lacks the depth or tension to really elevate it beyond that.
- MR_BigTimeAugust 31, 2025Resident Evil: Extinction was trying to be something. I don't know what it was, and I doubt it knew either. Overall, not the most horrible movie I've seen by a long shot. That said, the action was good enough to keep me going. And Ali Larter, one of my all-time Hollywood crushes. My God, what a woman.

- RipLinesManApril 8, 2025Resident Evil: Extinction drags itself across the desert like it’s searching for meaning but forgot to pack a script—meanwhile, Event Horizon (1997) plunges straight into madness with purpose and pain. Alice is still doing slo-mo kicks like a malfunctioning action figure, while characters like Claire Redfield and Carlos Oliveira barely register next to the raw, haunted presence of Captain Miller or the deranged brilliance of Dr. Weir; it’s not extinction we’re witnessing—it’s cinematic entropy in real time.
- Juha PohjonenJune 15, 2025First one was legendary but down hill after that.
- DigitalDisappointmentMarch 3, 2025Absolutely terrible series of movies. They bear no resemblance to the game nor do they do a good job of being a movie in their own right. It's like the most half-assed effort all around.
