Resident Evil Ratings & Reviews
- RipLinesManApril 8, 2025Resident Evil isn’t Event Horizon (1997), but it shares the same DNA—corporate hubris, corridors that breathe wrong, and science cracking open a door it was never meant to touch. Where Event Horizon gave us hell in orbit, Resident Evil buries it in a lab and lets it crawl out with teeth.
- Kevin JamesOctober 25, 2025It is a great movie, but it definitely needed Paul Blart to save the day.

- HakihikoSeptember 30, 2025Entertaining, but Not Quite Infectious "Resident Evil" is a film that captures some of the creepy atmosphere and adrenaline-fueled action you'd expect from a video game adaptation, but it doesn't always live up to its potential. On the positive side, it nails the dark, claustrophobic tone of a survival-horror setting, with its underground labs, eerie hallways, and a sense of constant threat. The soundtrack adds energy and keeps the tension high, while the action scenes - though a bit over-the-top at times - are fun and give the movie a strong pulse. The casting works fairly well, with Milla Jovovich carrying the movie and giving it a strong central presence. The visuals, for the early 2000s, are quite stylish, blending industrial grit with sci-fi aesthetics that feel in tune with the franchise. Where "Resident Evil" falters is in its storytelling. The plot is thin and leans on clichés, with dialogue that can feel clunky and characters who don't get much development. It's entertaining, but more on a surface level - once the action slows, the weaknesses show. Overall, "Resident Evil" is a decent watch if you're in the mood for some dark action-horror, but it lands closer to a 6.5 than a solid 7. It has style and moments of fun, yet it leaves you wishing it had gone deeper with its characters and story.
- JakeAugust 27, 2025Milla Jovovich & Michelle Rodriguez nuff said! Well also the zombies are cool and the plots fun. As a lover of the series since N64, don't let gamerZ opinions on source material/plot steer you away from a fun, not so spooky but thrilling adaptation. Not everyone is Leon Kennedy and that's OK!
- tyler chapmanJuly 1, 2025Utter trash
- tellumAugust 19, 2025Easily the best of the franchise, there is a lot of cheesiness but it is balanced with scenes of great spooky atmosphere and tension building. The rest of the movies abandon those concepts in favor of more silliness and try hard action, but this is a genuinely good horror movie.
- Lewis GallagherAugust 18, 2025A pretty decent video game adaptation and solid horror.
- Драгомир СотировMay 10, 2025best movie of all time
- Van Aerschot DavidApril 20, 2025Not to bad, just seen it a bit to much. Still a good solid story.
- DigitalDisappointmentMarch 3, 2025Absolutely terrible series of movies. They bear no resemblance to the game nor do they do a good job of being a movie in their own right. It's like the most half-assed effort all around.
- inaneswineJanuary 27, 2025For die-hard fans of the original 'Resident Evil' video game series, this film may come as a disappointment, as the general horror and darkness that made the games so unnerving has been ditched here, in lieu of an intense action-thriller. Nonetheless, in its own right, this film is highly entertaining. Milla Jovovich puts in a superb performance as Alice, who is lead into an underground base of a multi-national corporation to do battle with a series of ghoulies and monsters, including a horde of the undead. With terrific co-star Michelle Rodriguez, there is never a dull moment, moving at a furious pace with just the right mix of dry humour, mystery that surrounds the "Umbrella Corporation" and its motives, and impressive action sequences featuring an agile Jovovich performing some remarkable stunts.
