Relay Ratings & Reviews
- Ajay3d agoDidn't know much going into this film, and would recommend that to everyone. The less you know, the more captivating it is. Riz Ahmed and Lily James are excellent in this story, and one of my main praises is for the cinematography. The camera angles and focus points are absolutely spot-on, making each scene feel purposeful instead of bland or filler. The writing, casting, music choices and pacing are all very good, with only the action / chase sequences falling short. There is a short section of the film that falls apart quickly, but it's not a terrible thing. Absolutely worth two watches - one to see it, and one to unpack it knowing the ending.
- Timeless CinemaSeptember 7, 2025A quiet thriller that's incredibly intelligent. The acting sells the character driven narratives, while the story provides some refreshing surprises through the end.
- crazykav3d agoA nice sunday evening watch with a couple of plotholes. Still overall entertaining and solid performances.
- rayzrsharpOctober 28, 2025Good watch. Good writing/ story. Riz was great. Glad to see Sam Worthington still working.
- EdwardOctober 27, 2025The protagonist suffers from the all too common trope of catching feelings and forgetting all his precautions. That said, the premise was fresh and the ending paid off
- amfxcOctober 26, 2025it was a fun enough watch! i enjoyed it
- abdii_7October 6, 2025Surprisingly better than I thought. Both leads did a phenomenal job!

- eyeclopsOctober 5, 2025Was an OK film story should of made this an action movie, but was done as a thriller so came across as too slow paced to keep you invested in it
- Prince IbraSeptember 20, 2025Legend Twist
- jeremy8937September 20, 2025Def worth watching
- lukeledbrookOctober 4, 2025Needed 20 minutes taking off it, but I was pleasantly surprised by the twist at the end! Worth a watch once and then you'll forget all about it
- Kevin WardOctober 4, 2025Corporate espionage / whistle-blower, techno-thriller starring Riz Ahmed and Lily James and directed by David McKenzie, probably best known for Hell or High Water. The central concept essentially being that Ahmed’s character uses a telecom relay system intended for the hearing impaired as his main method of subterfuge when assisting his whistle-blower clients. And with Sam Worthington hot on their tails, the film makes for a pretty effective thriller. Therr’e a constant back and forth play for power depending on who has the leverage and who can stay one step ahead of the other. I kind of wish Worthington had a larger role and that film revolved more around their cat and mouse game and less around the pseudo-romance of Riz and Lily (because that was not believable to me, at all). I won’t spoil anything, but in the third act, there’s something that happens that, in the moment, I thought was an interesting turn and I was feeling like it was a smart reveal. But then moments after finishing watching, I had the feeling like that plot turn doesn’t really hold up to much scrutiny. Liked this way more than The Amateur from earlier this year. Similar vibe though.
