- Doc Worm17 de junio de 2026Punisher: Warzone obnoxiously defines the kind of action popular around around 2008. Freerunners, dub step, and some garish colorful, high contrast digital post production. This doesn't get in the way of it being a ton of fun. Ray Stevenson has a solid take on Frank Castle (if not a bit soapy), and Dominic West is a blast as Billy Russo, my favorite take on Jigsaw. Wayne Knight, however, is totally wasted. It was a shame as I was excited to get to see what he does as Micro. Pretty much all of the side characters are insufferable otherwise. Laughably bad writing. Definitely, some leaps in logic, a plot hole or two, and some questionable character motives. Forgivable, given how much fun it's goofy over the top wonton carnage is throughout. What sets warzone apart from other iterations is how it treats Punisher for what it is - a comic adaptation.
- levi c lund19 de abril de 2026This film adapts the comic, but forgets the soul of the character. You get glimpses of it, but its never fleshed out. It feels heavily stylized with little payoff or substance. The writing often feels at odds with what the scenes are trying to make you feel. Shock gets played for humor instead. Things that work in the comics don't always translate to film. I think that about sums up what's wrong with this movie.
- DRE SKEE23 de noviembre de 2025"The villain is very accurate to comic book writing and the violence is also accurate to the comic book. However, this film would have made for better character building for Marvel had they again acquired Thomas Jane for the role of "The Punisher" in the 2008 film "Punisher: Warzone" since Thomas Jane portrayed the same character of "Frank Castle" in Marvel's 2004 adaptation. Seeing that actor suited in full vested armor up to his neck [As the 2004 film depicted him in a tee shirt and the trench coat similar to a school active shooter.] would've been great for continuity regarding "Frank Castle", as it would've displayed the progression of his misery without his family presence and how more in-depth he became with his vigilante mission objective. But it also doesn't hurt to leave the actor swap up to the imagination."😎
- ddt5342 de abril de 2025I’ve always loved the Punisher movies. What makes them so special is that they’re about one man and his efforts to clean up all the criminal element that’s been effecting the city. He is unbound by the normal laws that affect the police and he doesn’t destroy everything he touches. And he does have a stand up comedial partner.
- Blockbuster Movie Pass7 de marzo de 2025Absolute underrated masterpiece! If you want a cbm with SAUCE this movie is the full JAR bro! Great cinematography, direction, acting, lighting EVERYTHING! Definitely the closest to the Raimi Trilogy in terms of vibes (just R rated lol) Great fun movie! RIP Ray Stevenson
- ርልዪረ27 de enero de 2025Another comic book movie, and the third time this particular character has gotten to the screen. The Punisher [just in case you're uninitiated, even though you probably aren't if you're reading this] is Frank Castle. US Special Forces veteran and a man always more at home in battle than in everyday life. When his family were caught in the crossfire of a mob execution and he was the only survivor, he took his revenge. He set out to make the world a better place by killing all the bad guys. The first two versions, starring Dolph Lundgren and Thomas Jane respectively, divided opinion. So Frank got another go at the big screen. This time with British actor Ray Stevenson in the lead. It's best to view this one as a fresh take on the character rather than any sequel to the Thomas Jane version. It doesn't tell Frank's origin story, as it starts with him having been the Punisher for years. And only recaps on it briefly later on in the film. Here, a strike against a sadistic mob boss creates two problems for Frank. The mobster survives, but is horribly disfigured in the process. Taking on the name 'Jigsaw' he embarks on a campaign of revenge. Also, one mob soldier Frank killed turns out to have been an undercover agent. With his partner out to bring the Punisher to justice, and with Jigsaw out for revenge, plus with the agent's wife and young daughter caught in the crossfire, the Punisher has a lot to deal with. Who will survive? This does draw on more recent Punisher comics. A lot of supporting characters from those do pop up in the film. Although most in name only, some being different from their comic book counterparts. This doesn't compromise on the violence, delivering action and shooting scenes of the kind you would expect from a movie based on this character. They're bloody and graphic but never gratuitious. Where it does score highly is in it's portrayal of it's central character. Ray Stevenson looks the part. And he manages to act the part as well, excellently depicting Frank's inner demons. With a solid supporting cast, this is a film that never goes over the top, and manages to be both a good action movie and a thoughtful portrayal of the effect that the desire for revenge can have on people. Fans of the comic will find it well worth a look. Those after a decent action movie shouldn't be disappointed either.
