Prisoners Ratings & Reviews
- cferacoAugust 20, 2025In Prisoners, a father goes to extreme and morally questionable lengths—crossing legal and ethical lines—to protect and recover his child, while in Home Alone, Kevin fiercely defends his house with clever traps, showing that whether through desperation or playfulness, both films ask how far someone will go to protect what’s theirs.
- ርልዪረJuly 30, 2025Prisoners personally I think is a very good movie ... The film starts a bit slow but as it progresses in the story everything becomes much more captivating and you start to want to see more! Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) doesn't look like a bad man to me but he was wrong and all he wanted to do was find out his daughter, and I bet if we were him we would do something similar because you don't think clearly! I said if we were in his place, I know it's a movie but it's so realistic and child abductions are very real, thousands of children are abducted, raped and killed all over the world, if you think about it it's really very terrifying! But going back to the movie, the film also shows Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) who is a very good detective but has an escape when he comes in to check on Bob Taylor to see the map he is drawing and because of Loki he kills himself. I like it because it can be stressful, no matter how good you are, so very realistic! and I want to point out that I like the little detail that Loki blinks a lot like a defect ... In the end, when Loki wants to leave the house where Keller is, he hears a whistle and here's the question, Loki leaves or Loki finds Keller ... I like to think that Loki finds out because he is a very capable and good detective than I personally think he finds out but I cry for a sequel with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal
- cultfilmlikerSeptember 11, 2025Denis Villeneuve sure loves the elements Gyllenhaal’s the GOAT but Melissa Leo is so god damn good as well. In this and many other things (Homicide: Life on the Street, The Fighter, Red State, Louie…) Pretty scary film to watch au naturale (doors / windows open, candles lit) especially growing up and staying in the city BTK terrorized for decades The goddamn Riddler sings the Batman version of “Jingle Bells” in this lmfao

- HakihikoJune 25, 2025Tense, Gripping, and Emotionally Heavy "Prisoners" is a deeply intense thriller that grips you from the first scene and doesn't let go. It explores moral ambiguity, desperation, and justice with a maturity and weight that few films in the genre manage to achieve. The direction by Denis Villeneuve is masterful-he builds tension slowly, letting the atmosphere speak as loudly as the dialogue. The pacing is deliberate but never boring, always keeping you on edge. The cinematography by Roger Deakins is absolutely stunning, adding a cold and brooding aesthetic that perfectly fits the tone of the story. Hugh Jackman delivers one of his strongest performances, playing a father unraveling under the weight of uncertainty and pain. Jake Gyllenhaal also shines as the obsessive detective, bringing nuance and depth to a role that could have easily felt generic. Their performances elevate the emotional gravity of the story. The film is disturbing at times, and its themes of loss and vengeance aren't easy to watch-but that's part of its strength. Overall, "Prisoners" is a smart, emotional, and visually stunning thriller that leaves a lasting impression. It's not light viewing, but it's a powerful one.
