Primate

- ricomckee1d agoSurprisingly effective and tense thriller and horror movie. Basically a modern take on Cujo. However, the gore os good and there is great tension.

Not really much to root for here. Only thing decent in this film is the money they sadly spent on the Effects and makeup for the movie. it looks good but that doesn't carry your Predictable Boring Cliche film. ALSO- I think after i heard this movie was made by Blumhouse studios i realized it all makes sense why it feels like it was made by unintelligent People. Cause it was

- Hipster ZOMBIEJanuary 15, 2026Primate (2025) is pretty dumb, gloriously gory, and exactly the kind of midnight-movie creature feature that knows it’s throwing bananas and leans into the splatter. The setup is pure B-movie goodness: a crazed pet chimpanzee with rabies by way of a mongoose, and escalateing choas with some very stupid young adults caught in the middle. The gore lands hard and often, with wince-worthy kills that feel handcrafted for genre sickos who like their horror messy and mean. Like me. The human element is a circus of bad decisions. The kids are walking cautionary tales, and the parent (a deaf author who is about to go on a book tour) are so aggressively brain-dead you’ll forget they’re supposedly ape experts. It’s frustrating, hilarious, and oddly charming in how committed it is to stupidity. What really sells it is the score, a creepy, synth-soaked pulse that feels like a lost Goblin tape unearthed from a Dario Argento vault. Primate won’t be the best horror film of 2026, but it definitely won’t be the worst, and against all odds, you’ll probably have a damn good time watching it, I know I did.

- shirazesatFebruary 12, 2026A lesson in pet ownership and too much glass. Edge of seat horror that's really riveting. I tagged this high due to the quality of the story and excellent pace. Plus no-one does anything daft, like you usually see in horrors - everything is believable. I would say, though, that there's too much gore in some scenes, and I really hope high ratings for this isn't misinterpreted as a sign that gore is good. "Saw", for example, was excellent because of its concept but producers focused on gore rather than concept
