Payback Ratings & Reviews
- ricardo rosarioMay 10, 2025Love this Movie Mel Gibson doesn't take Crap from nobody in this Movie, actually some scenes make me laugh!
- tellumFebruary 19, 2026Late 90s rank and file action that was in the rotation of cable TV filler programming. Basically carried by how much you like Gibson, for me in this movie he’s just ok but his character is hilariously one dimensional, but that’s the intent.
- TonyRigatonyFebruary 5, 2026Listen , I think 1.5 stars is generous for this Mel Gibson super hero movie lol. Some good looking chicas in this one boys but pretty corny overall. Corny can be good, if you got some time to burn give it a shot.
- Your MomJanuary 11, 2026Best Max Payne movie 🙌🏻
- Philip CollinsApril 2, 2025Love this show, it's always had a good storyline that was also comical.
- flavo43December 6, 2025Payback (1999) is a dark, brooding thriller that thrives on its singular focus: revenge. Mel Gibson delivers one of his best performances as Porter, a ruthless antihero determined to reclaim what was stolen from him. While some might find the pacing deliberate, every interaction escalates tension, violence, and misunderstanding, creating a relentless atmosphere that keeps viewers hooked. The film’s gritty tone is enhanced by its noir-inspired visuals, capturing a world steeped in corruption and betrayal. What makes Payback stand out is its refusal to soften Porter’s character—he is unapologetically brutal, yet compelling. The supporting cast, including Gregg Henry, Maria Bello, and James Coburn, adds credibility and depth, fleshing out a criminal underworld that feels both stylized and authentic. Director Brian Helgeland crafts a story that is straightforward yet layered, ensuring the revenge narrative never loses momentum. Payback remains a gripping exploration of vengeance, morality, and survival in a world without heroes.
- jfall60December 1, 2025Not much Payback Mel just keeps getting shot up
- davidfrench699August 10, 2025The movie is exactly what you might think, it has lots of violence. Gibson does his usual good work and makes the show interesting.
- Aaron SladeMarch 29, 2025The unnecessary remake of Point Blank. Its not too bad a watch, in a way its kind of fun. And it does have a couple of my favourite actors like Deborah Kara Unger, John Glover and Maria Bello. The blue tint to the film stock is overwhelming, I'm not sure what they were going for there. But what really annoys me every time I watch this movie is the actor Gregg Henry, who plays the friend who double crosses Mel Gibson. He overacts every scene to such a ridiculous level, I end up turning the movie off about half way through every time.
- James E McNallyFebruary 25, 2025Real interesting with good plot and ending!! 😉
