Parasite Ratings & Reviews
- KentFebruary 11, 2025Wow! Amazing! What a ride this was to watch. This is a masterful exploration of class struggle wrapped in a gripping narrative that deftly blends dark comedy and thriller elements. With its sharp social commentary and meticulously crafted plot twists, "Parasite" keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. The cinematography is stunning, and the performances are exceptional, particularly by the ensemble cast. Bong's direction seamlessly melds genres, resulting in a thought-provoking and unforgettable cinematic experience that challenges societal norms and prompts discussions long after the credits roll. It is one of the best films I have ever seen. A true modern masterpiece deserving of its accolades, including the Academy Award for Best Picture.
- gamegye8April 4, 2025Fun watch but I don’t get it
- RazorbitzFebruary 22, 2025I've seen a lot of Bong's other works before this one, and I'm still not decided if this is my favorite of his or not. Regardless, Parasite is a richly funny film that eases into the damp embrace of hate through layers of dramatic irony. I didn't know what I was getting into with this one despite hearing all its praises, but so brilliantly realized each moment is that despite many months passing from my first and only viewing I can replay entire scenes in my head like I witnessed it today. The glue of the film is the family the story revolves around, with each having such soul and wit to their performances and interfamilial dynamics that by the end of the film I only wanted to follow their stories; I shant go into too much more than my praise, as this film deserves all of it and more, but if you don't know how this one plays out, do so. My only gripe, and its a small one--the ending. I got what they were going for, but it didn't fully click with me even though it stuck with me and left me thinking a while after about it. You may feel differently of course, and either way its a modern classic for good reason. This one is definitely deserving a rewatch at some point, and maybe that ending will click better then.
- Rowan KrzysiakFebruary 11, 2025It really is very, very, very, good. It kind of felt like 6 films in one, delicately draped over each other along with the themes, emotions and perspectives. Superbly balanced. Highly recommended.
- Ummm NOFebruary 7, 2025Amazing movie, so much fun and do different from anything I've seen. Can't reccomend enough
- RyezooFebruary 7, 2025Wow! Well acted, beautifully shot, and juggles so many different genres. This is an impressive film and the editing is also fantastic. Had no idea where this was going and it kept me very entertained and on the edge of my seat. Happy to see this pick up so many nominations!
- eiriganceJanuary 28, 2025Bong Joon-ho almost has a masterpiece in Parasite. Every human being is equal in this world & should be treated as such. I believe the "Parasites" in this deep & passionate world to be the family that's poverty stricken. They gracefully & deviously attach themselves to a host, but ultimately assume the role of God, showing they're no better. If life was fair everyone would have the same opportunities in life. Choices, circumstance & Integrity separate us & at the end of the day this movie shows that deep down we would choose to be unethical given the opportunity & maybe that's true...
