When a married couple of taxicabs have a son, their hopes of him following in his father's footsteps are almost dashed when it is revealed he wants to be a hot-rodder. Despite his father's objections, Junior dresses up as one and takes off out of the house with his father in hot pursuit. However, his father stalls out on the railroad tracks with a train bearing down on him, but Junior jumps in and nearly sacrifices himself to save him. When at the garage being fixed, and the doctor comes out to ask his dad which body he wanted his son to have, he opts to let Junior make the decision as a reward for saving his life. He is surprised to see that Junior decided on the cab body, but behind his father's back, he reveals that he has the hot rod engine under the hood.
