- Neon GhloesNovember 11, 2025Hemmed Knight Chamoixland's GREATEST film presentation! It's Sheila's origin story! Ya know, from Army Of Darkness! Maddox escapes Idlib Island's deadly geriatric beach, changes her name to Sheila, and moves to Castle Candar to rule the darkness! It all makes sense how cool Sheila was in AOD! Cuz she's used to weird ass shit goin down! She was always ready for that glorious role! It's really good to have an origin story for one of films most incredible female roles! The ever venerable SHEILA!
- cultfilmlikerApril 10, 2025Okay, yeah, this one is incredibly about COVID, but I think saying Knock at the Cabin ISN’T about COVID only makes me gesture at this even more wildly. Honestly some really solid acting considering the range of emotions these characters are experiencing lmao Alex Wolff is just playing a younger version of himself…and the young Alex Wolff character is also just playing a younger version of Alex Wolff. 🤯 I’m high An incredibly original concept with some nice directing touches! Honestly impressive the story manages to stay so engaging considering how quickly they have to start dealing with the plot lmao Stupid fucking kids understand symbolism better than I do smh
- d-harvNovember 1, 2025Mesmerizing and captivating. There is a scene or two that made me uncomfortable, but overall I understand them and they did not tarnish my opinion of this movie.
- Josip MikićSeptember 30, 2025Too predictable
- M08YSeptember 4, 2025Old is a really good idea for a film but it's held back by mechanical inconsistencies and (at times) a rather dodgy script. With a bit more thought and polish, Old could have been something really great. The characters were all fairly well realised and the cast did a good job with a script that was decent at best. ``` It’s rust. It acts like poison when it gets into your bloodstream. *Man keels over and dies* ``` I can't quite do it justice, but it's incredibly clunky. The 4K bluray looked and sounded absolutely fine but there was a missed opportunity for some weird bass-heavy sound effects when they kept passing out trying to leave.
- jackmeatAugust 10, 2025My quick rating - 5.9/10. I think it is good that M. Night Shyamalan has accepted the fact that he is not going to catch lightning in a bottle again in his movies. It would just be nice if the audience would realize the same thing. To me, this felt like watching a full-budget old-school Twilight Zone episode. A group of people is invited to an exclusive private beach that is secluded away from the rest of the resort where they are all staying. Soon after arriving, however, they start to realize they are aging at a rapid pace. This is more apparent in the kids at first, of course, and with that loss of youth, the story is intelligently written to take into account how it would affect them differently than the adults. Also, handling the situation takes its toll on the group in different ways, especially since it seems they are all afflicted with a different health issue. The characters here are quite unique and played well. If the whiny girl is bothering you, don't worry, in less than 10 minutes, she'll be an adult. Since going into this one, you already know what the catch is; figuring out the reveal is part of M. Nights game. I have to say that I was again impressed with how this one turned out. The wrap-up is quite satisfying, although I wish it had gone on a few more minutes. The tension throughout the whole experience is what makes this a worthwhile watch. Much more a thriller than horror, but an entertaining flick that is enjoyable but not great. I think the confusion for many, myself included, was whether this was trying to be a comedy along the way? As I said, it is like an episode for TV that just got a great-looking locale to shoot, that just dragged into a full-length movie.
- tellumMay 29, 2025This movie is a perfect representation of M. Night Shyamalan. The first half is poor and hard to get through, then somehow the second half turns it all around and is quite good. Maybe the most polarized movie I’ve seen, but all is well that ends well I guess.
