Where to Watch Nimona
- JeremeyJuly 4, 2025Netflix built a masterpiece, then handed the script to Reddit. I wanted to love this one — and I almost did. The animation? Breathtaking. It’s like someone told the animators, “Go nuts,” and they said, “Bet.” The world is stylish, textured, and actually dares to feel different. But then the plot showed up like it had something important to say… and just wouldn’t shut up. It’s not that the themes are wrong — it’s that they drown out everything else. The story feels like a TED Talk wrapped in a fairy tale, shouting over itself to make sure you get the message. Characters stop feeling like people and start sounding like commentary threads with capes. I get it — we’re all supposed to clap when a movie “means something.” But what if it says it badly? 🥇 What Slaps Art that actually takes risks Character movement and design? Chef’s kiss Voice acting is clean, tight, and never grating World feels modern without pandering 🚫 What Stinks Narrative’s got the subtlety of a Facebook comment war “Depth” = talking louder about feelings Characters are mouthpieces, not humans Plot builds to a theme, not a moment ⭐ Narrative – 1/5 ⭐ Everything Else – 5/5 🧾 Final Score: 3.5/5 Nimona looks like a revolution, sounds like a hit, but reads like a Twitter thread with a Netflix budget. Beautiful noise. Messy message.
- Daevid VincentNovember 15, 2025Easily one of my favorite animated cartoon style "kids movies". But don't let that mislead you. There's a lot of nods that adults will get. There's so many funny parts and so many subtle details. The more I've watched it (probably 20 plus times at this point) I still see new little things. And the same funny lines make me chuckle every time; many have found their way into the normal dialog with my granddaughter even. 😊
