Mortal Kombat II Ratings & Reviews
- ACAB542d agoThis movie was awesome!!!
- Jeremiah2d agoThis ended my like 20 90s movie run cause i went to the theater and watched this. I did not like mortal kombat 2021. But i kinda liked mortal kombat 2. Its far from great but it really feels like they listened to all the complaints and just went on a bender to remedy on those complaints. Cause its not a great movie for giving the fans exactly what they want. But it is an entertaining one and for some that will be enough. In many ways its just fight after fight after fight. With the lu kang and kung lao fight be the absolute standout. All other ones are pretty decent but dont shine like that one did, and not only cause its the most well done choreography and cool effects (although it does win in those departments) but because of the emotional stakes as well. Its cheesy but has a lot of entertaining moments. Kano delivers top tier zingers a few times. Johnny cage is pretty great too and i woulda absolutely loved to see JVCD do the role. Missed opportunity, but JVCD probably is too old despite hes supposed to be old. Urban still crushes it like most stuff he does. This cheese is like spray can cheese. Its not great but sometimes it hits the spot perfectly to just shoot it straight into your mouth.
- Doc Worm2d agoBigger stupider and way more than fun than the last one. Overlong with a terrible script with worse delivery. I do appreciate that they cut out most of the fluff to get right into the fights. Those were pretty entertaining.
- mathewp1163d agoNot sure yet
- Rick5d agoBad dialog, cheesy jokes, absurd story, loads of fan service and gruesome kills. My 12 year old self would have loved it, and my 41 year old self did too.
- Ernesto Rodríguez3d agoThis movie went FULL Mortal Kombat mode 🔥🩸 Crazy fights, savage fatalities, and zero chill from beginning to end. Finally feels like the real game brought to life. If you’re a Mortal Kombat fan… this is pure hype. GET OVER HERE 😤
- Jayster3d agoGreat movie for Mortal Kokbat fans as it’s about the tournament between realms! Enjoyed watching in IMAX
- darsan6d agoi absolutely loved karl urban as johnny fucking cage, kano was GOATED , kitana was GOATED , the gore was even better than the first one and i CAN'T WAITT FOR THE SEQUEL.
- ADONIS0094d agoI’m f-ing Johnny Cage. Nonstop action, brutal gore, and awesome fights from start to finish. It stayed true to a lot of classic Mortal Kombat and was way better than the first movie. Fun as hell and an amazing watch.👌🏽💯
- DJMOK4d agoomfg yiiiiiikes what a gawdawful movie. why did they delay the film only to release a trash movie??? its terrible. i tell you this much i rather watch the MKII of 1997 than to ever watch this trash. man what a major let down and to think they were saying this movie has a much higher budget but where?? its all CGI.
- cultfilmliker5d agoTwo films and not a single god-damned, “Toasty!” By the time we see it in the third one ima roll my eyes lmao Multiple groups of people clapped at the end of the screening lolol Tried to cover up the total lack of coherent plot with fan service (the writers heard your concerns about new characters) and an increased level of mercilessness. It only makes a dent. Plus the setup for the threequel looks atrocious and I’m already mad I’ll be seeing it opening weekend I was very mad at the closing music until it was like actually used properly as the credits. That was kind of cool Watched in IMAX at Warren Regal West Currently Ranked #55/66 in 2026 Ranked
- fpmo345d agoLots of fun & nostalgia
- Last_Z10n5d agoSo far, the best Mortal Kombat adaptation for the big screen. Congrats to everyone involved in the project. FATALITY!
- Heavel7d agoThe sequel to the 2021's famous fighting game of all time, Mortal Kombat II has learned the mistakes from its predecessor and improved it for being like the games and a standalone viewing experience. MKII is the movie the fans deserved to see ever since the first ever MK cinema adaptation from 1995 to see fighters fighting in a tournament to save their worlds from the big baddy, Shao Kahn. The movies starts with the introduction of Johnny Cage who is your typical famous actor for action movies and looking handsome within the 1980s turned washed-up former star within the present era of entertainment which the audience have moved on from. Cage is chosen by the thunder demi-god, Raiden and his champions/fighters to join the Mortal Kombat to save Earth or in other terms, Earthrealm since there are other worlds that exist in the same universe as Earth but wasn't feeling cut out to be the type of man to save the world for real even in the first movie, some of the original fighters were kind of shocked of the idea but he was chosen for a reason like the others and Johnny Cage proved that his skills as an actor and his charm is exactly what Earthrealm needs. As tradition of fighting games in big screens, it is about hand-to-hand plus weapons they use in kombat scenes and MKII delivers just that, the fights have great choreography and adrenaline to keep viewers hype every second as well great camera angles showing the motion of the actors performing the moves added with easter eggs and references. Like the games, the gore is there like the 2021 movie but the gorey kills are pretty exaggerated and makes logical sense despite the MK games in general having more ludicrous, creative and over the top kills that are considered unrealistic as if the laws of physics got changed when performing the fatalities on defeated fighters At the end of the day, Mortal Kombat II has made it clear that taking the franchise to something gritty and very grounded route for a franchise that are known for being over the top may not always work which the same director of the 2021 movie embraced the base foundations of the MK lore and worldbuilding from the OG source material which viewers can watch this movie without requiring to watch the first movie to get into the MK world
