Where to Watch Morning Glory
- The challenge for today's viewers of Morning Glory is to take measure of the project using a 1933 Hollywood lens. To critique this with a modern Hollywood lens is simply shortsighted. Morning Glory is very close to being autobiographical.... Ms. Hepburn portrays Eva Lovelace as very well educated having read the Golden Bough script in its original German, driven, fiercely independent, unequivocally states 'I smoke', ready to sacrifice love for her craft, nails a very long one sided conversation, and does quite well with famous outtakes from two Shakespeare plays. In other words - a tour de force performance. Morning Glory provided Ms. Hepburn the vehicle she needed to win the first of her four Oscars for Best Actress. A record that still stands to this day.
