I 1947 lavede 20th Century Fox Miraklet på Manhattan, der skulle vise sig at blive den mest populære julefilm for generationer af amerikanere. Nu har John Hughes (bl.a. Alene Hjemme-filmene) produceret en moderne fortolkning af historien, der er nutidig, men alligevel stadig har bibeholdt den hjertevarme stemning. Den 6-årige Susan Walker bor alene med sin mor, Dorey, der er PR chef for stormagasinet Cole’s på Manhattan i New York. Lige før jul ansættes en rar ældre mand som julemand i stormagasinet. Hans skæg er ægte, men selv om Susan godt ved, at julemanden ikke eksisterer i virkeligheden, er der nu alligevel noget ved Mr. Kringle, der virker meget, meget anderledes… Richard Attenborough, Elizabeth Perkins, Dylan McDermott og Mara Wilson skal nok sørge for, at julestemningen vil brede sig overalt, hvor familier stadig er åbne for Miraklet på 34. gade

- ርልዪረ18. december 2025Dorey Walker (Elizabeth Perkins) is the producer of the Christmas parade for Cole's department store. Kris Kringle (Richard Attenborough) is shocked at the drunken Santa in the parade. Dorey quickly puts Kris Kringle in to replace the drunk. Her daughter Susan (Mara Wilson) doesn't believe in Santa because her mother explained it all to her. Bryan Bedford (Dylan McDermott) is Dorey's boyfriend. Dorey hires Kris Kringle as the store's Santa who becomes popular for recommending shoppers to other stores. Susan is taken with the new Santa and starts to believe that he's the real deal. There is a rival store Shopper's Express which tries to sabotage Kris Kringle by getting him arrested. There is the great Richard Attenborough and a cute little girl. There is nothing wrong with the acting. The script is a little dated. Some of the simpler elements seem charming in the original but seem naive in the modern version. This one has very little to offer other than Attenborough. Also for some reason, they got rid of the post office plot line. The mailbags piled into the courtroom is probably the most compelling scene in the original.

- Junior Reyes25. december 2025Talking on here about favourite Santa I mentioned Richard Attenborough as Kris Kringle in Miracle on 34th Street. Well 31 years later, I found it and added it to my personal collection. A wholesome and family-friendly story. It's a must-watch on a day like today every year. I watched this when it first came out. Yes I'm old but the films still magical. I always saw it as absolute classic. A film everyone should see once. jo jo jo merry christmas!
