- OdinTheRavenKing-1 d.## Synopsis After the recent introduction of an AI judicial system, a detective responsible for that system is on trial for the murder of his wife. ## Review This really is a static action movie. There is action, but it really can feel flat as it is displayed through a video screen. You consistently have an overlay on the cameras or an over the should body came feel. While there are times you get to move with the person whose view it is, the viewer never gets the weight of the events happening on the screen. There also is this relatively weird effect on Chris Pratt's character when he is watching the simulation or live feed of events. Specifically I am talking about the whip of the simulation away creates this wind through his hair. Why? I will say from a story + film perspective, it is a brilliant idea of how to pull the viewer into the story as if you are in the chair. I think the Rebecca Ferguson and Chris Pratt do a great job. Whether they were actually in the same room or not is questionable. I am pretty sure they weren't, but I think they were at least in each other's ear mean they could react correctly. The story itself is very [[Minority Report]]esq. This idea that you are basically guilty as soon as you sit down rather than being innocent unless proven guilty. In fact, that is one of the lines of the court, "Guilty unless proven innocent" which is crazy in this idea that they basically ignore the US Constitution, but that makes sense for California. I'll leave my personal politics out. ## [My Rating] I want to say, that I do appreciate that way the story is presented. It is relatively plausible that someone would do exactly what this story would do. What doesn't make sense is that these non-registered phones are allowed to use the same network against the law without them being able to figure it out. One of the biggest sins is the overwhelming use of AI in the movie. I am not talking about the character, I am talking about having AI make scenes in the movie just like in [[Flight Risk]]. It looks as bad as the viral scene from [[The Punisher One Last Kill]] (Which I just watched yesterday, review coming in the next couple of days). These issues really bring this movie down to a 6. ## [Parental Rating] There is language, grotesque violence, and no sexual scenes from what I remember. There is also a large plot line about alcoholism and as Dad stopped drinking when he started dating my Mom, I am not sure how my Mom would feel about this. I know that she isn't a big fan of her boys drinking, but doesn't fight us on it. Either way, I still don't think this would make it through their muster. Rejected by both.
- tom_wen31. januar 2026Worth your time!
- Amir Animashaun30. januar 2026Woahh this movie was thrilling those last 20 minutes was absolute peak. I know the volume is quite controversial in terms of cinema however it’s used smartly in this movie and actually pretty cool and useful. Chris Pratt delivers a solid performance in this murder mystery type movie and the twist at the end I did not coming.
- Miguel_Assuncao17. februar 2026Very good movie... 😅
- Johnny Walker5. februar 2026Gripping from beginning to the end! ⭐
- Dakota Rickel22. februar 2026Very fresh, very modern, very likely to come to fruition.
- carter288228. januar 2026Mercy is a thrilling ride that will keep you guessing from beginning to end. The film has a very intriguing premise that will get you hooked immediately after hearing about it. The film is very creative with the cinematography and the visuals, since the film revolves around someone looking at a screen for 95% of the film. The performances were really good in here, and made the film actually pretty intense, the film overall is pretty thrilling. The mystery is really good with a pretty good twist at the end that actually shocked me. So overall a really good film that I had a good time with and just a great start to 2026.
- hhall88. april 2026I don't typically write reviews. I like something every now and then. Just felt like adding one. This movie kinda caught me by surprise. It's futuristic AI concept along with Chris Pratt bringing it to life, is totally unique and really makes you think. Give it a try. Sorry so long.
- naren shenoy-4 d.It will play out about the way you expect. Chris Pratt has steered into the action oriented side of his acting career, and this is no different from his most recent roles. Rebecca Ferguson is quite good as the AI in question. Beyond that, completely average. A solid background movie.
- Miles Jones-7 d.Great movie, good twists and turns. I was not looking for an Oscar movie, just a fun action movie with some thrill and that was this. The daughter sucks at acting but I didn't care, fun movie.
- LivewireAdmin8. mai 2026Google, show me Chris Pratt not being able to act his way out of a paper bag. Google, show me Rebecca Ferguson on the verge of laughing at every one of her lines. Google, show me a car chase but make it AI slop. Google, show me Minority Report but remove the subtext and meaning. Google, don’t ever show me this again.
- Tommy Woerner11. februar 2026Fresh take on Minority Report. Gotta squeeze that quantum and AI in there.
- MikeyGee-1029. mars 2026Actually quite an exhilarating watch!
- Patrick Wai6. mai 2026Amazon MGM is at least getting better at making movies that go down easy, because this is not great, not terrible, and pretty entertaining if you are willing to ignore the fact that its AI justice system has more holes than a discount colander. The setup is pure near-future sci-fi noir: Chris Pratt plays a detective on trial for his wife’s murder before an AI judge, played by Rebecca Ferguson, with 90 minutes to prove his innocence. At heart, though, it is basically a detective story wearing a shiny dystopian Halloween costume. Pratt is fine as the hero, even if this is still very much “Chris Pratt doing Chris Pratt,” while Ferguson does the harder job well, giving the AI judge just enough doubt, impatience, and eerie almost-emotion to make her more interesting than a flat robot would have been. The plot is predictable, and the movie leans a little too hard on magical all-seeing AI instead of old-fashioned detective work, which makes the world feel both familiar and faintly ridiculous. Still, it moves, it entertains, and it works well enough as a whodunit with a silicon wig. Critics were split, with Rotten Tomatoes at 25% from reviewers but a much warmer 82% from verified audiences, which feels about right for a movie that is more enjoyable than convincing.
- kingjay26197. mars 2026great movie!!
