On the occasion of Alfred Biolek's death, ARD is showing a 90-minute portrait. The film by Sandra Maischberger and Hendrik Fritzler gives insights into the life of Alfred Biolek outside the media professional. Alfred Biolek opened his private archive for this purpose. He was one of the last living old masters of German television: Alfred Biolek. Like no other, he has presented biographies for decades with wit, charm and sensitivity, but above all with an irrepressible interest in people and their stories. As the host of numerous talk and entertainment shows, but also as a TV chef, he has become a crowd favorite across generations and thus the grand master of German television entertainment. Alfred Biolek was an indispensable part of millions of German living rooms. Accompanied by camera for two years Sandra Maischberger and Hendrik Fritzler followed the television legend with their cameras for two years. The long-standing relationship of trust between Biolek and the authors gave the TV star a surprising look into his private life: "As a student, I wasn't so interested in women, but I couldn't admit that I was interested in men either. That was a big mess. " And the topic of aging is not left out either: "Everything ends at some point. You can't believe that you can do everything forever." The relationship of trust that has developed between Biolek and the authors over many years also allows the TV star to take a surprising look at his private life. The authors had access to Biolek's private archive: numerous photos, but above all moving Super 8 images from the 1930s, showing the Biolek family and little Alfred, bring the impressions of his childhood to life. Close friends and family members also have their say, underscoring the personal journey through time. Alfred Biolek's film biography is rounded off by a large selection of moving and entertaining excerpts from numerous TV shows such as. "Bio's Bahnhof", "Boulevard Bio", "Alfredissimo" and recordings from his first television days in the early 1960s. A journey through Biolek's eventful life In New York City he met his ex-partner Keith, was sung about by his long-time friend Tim Fischer on the MS-Deutschland, cooked with his family and chatted with Alice Schwarzer at the legendary kitchen table in his Cologne apartment. "Man, organic!" takes viewers not only on a journey through Biolek's eventful life, but also on a journey through time on German television - from its first steps, from the pioneering years to today.
