Marty Ratings & Reviews
- Mister ArnMay 14, 2025When you read the summary of "Marty," you may not feel interested in watching it. The story is about a lonely butcher constantly pressured by his mother to find a wife. But don't judge the movie too quickly. It is a well-crafted story that showcases the actors' skills in creating relatable characters that viewers can connect with.
- StairwaytothestarsSeptember 19, 2025At times Marty's loneliness is so desperate that it is embarrassing and difficult to watch. He struggles awkwardly with his social skills as we feel sympathetic regarding his situation. Even before Marty tries dating there is a sense of hopelessness looming. It is a very compelling story of finding the acceptance of love. After all, isn't this what life is mainly about: hoping to acquire and maintain a loving and successful relationship? In an overpopulated world, loneliness lurks in masses. Superbly acted by the entire cast, and it is no wonder why Ernest Borgnine won an oscar.
