- Germaximus2026年5月6日I never would have expected these movies to actually be good but they are. I actually thought the first movie looked like really stupid but was glad to have watched it out of boredom. This one is even more hilarious and much better overall. There's a tiny bit of propaganda in it, sadly, but such is the way of these things. Never ever trust the government or the "UN." Ever. They are true evil. They are the enemy. Enjoy the movie!
- X2026年4月13日This is a all to common miss. I think it has an extremely strong premis, which we know, because it's just the plot of Terminator 2. The problem is unlike it's inspiration it fumbles the core philosophy. It want's to tell a near apoloplyse story with the message that we should not resist but manage an existencial threat. The effects are decent, the movie is fun, but every single opertunity for plot or growth is thrown away for quippy one liners or unneeded action.
- Nirupam2025年6月27日I gotta start being nicer to my Siri. They could have really pushed the humor and the campiness even more with M3GAN 2.0. If more of the energy I’ve seen in the marketing was applied here, this could have been a solid, cunty horror film. Thats not to say I didn’t enjoy it. Every time M3GAN is on screen as her sassy self, I had so much fun. I enjoyed the action sequences but wish the film was R-rated. While the PG-13 rating worked for the first film to some extent, you can tell that they cut around a lot of the gory bits here, which makes the over-the-top action feel a bit bland. But everything aside, I went in expecting to have fun and I definitely had fun. Akela Cooper needs to go all out for M3GAN 3.0. Maybe have M3GAN collab with Gabriel from Malignant.
- Benjamin2025年7月10日What’s with the bad reviews??? What, do people just hate fun?? Who doesn’t love dumb fun?? My theater was dying of laughter and same with me. I had a lot of fun while watching this movie. I thought the gore was amazing for a PG-13 movie. The story is a bit lackluster in my opinion, but it’s still a fun watch.
- jackmeat2026年2月3日My quick rating - 6.1/10. Finally getting around to this one after it sat stalled on my watchlist for way too long, M3GAN 2.0 turns out to be pretty much as I expected. A louder, slicker, slightly dumber sequel that knows it needs to evolve if the franchise is going to survive. And yeah, “villain turned hero” is very much the name of the game here. Sound familiar? It should. This has Terminator 2: Judgment Day written all over it, and I seriously doubt writer/director Gerard Johnstone would call that a coincidence. The film kicks off with a brisk action scene showcasing a new military-grade AI android named Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno) during what’s meant to be a rescue mission. Spoiler: it doesn’t go great. When Amelia decides shooting the target is more efficient than saving him, you immediately know we’re not dealing with just one rogue doll this time around. Meanwhile, young Cady (Violet McGraw) is explaining to a therapist how Gemma (Allison Williams) has dedicated herself to making AI “safer” so the events of the first movie never happen again. Naturally, this noble idea lasts about five minutes before being tossed straight out the window. For anyone worried M3GAN herself might be sidelined, don’t. She’s still very much alive as floating data, patiently waiting for her chance to get dropped back into a body, all while framing herself as humanity’s only hope to stop Amelia. Apparently, she’s also been busy doing other things, like secretly building an entire bunker inside Gemma’s house without anyone noticing. If you thought M3GAN was creepy before, seeing her in a half-built, DIY form cranks that unease up a notch. And honestly, while watching all this, it’s hard not to think, “Yeah… we’re absolutely going to see something like this in our lifetime.” Probably less Terminator and more WarGames, but still. Quote me on that. Before anyone jumps all over this sequel for leaning away from horror, it’s clearly embracing action and comedy instead. That shift might rub some fans the wrong way, but plenty of successful horror franchises - Evil Dead and Alien included - have walked that same path. I’m not comparing M3GAN 2.0 to those heavyweights, but the logic is sound. Franchises that don’t change tend to die. The action scenes here are genuinely solid, including a creatively staged hand-to-hand fight that stood out for me. That said, the movie’s ultimate goal is…pretty silly. A motherboard from the 1980s that’s somehow been powered and learning for decades? Sure. Whatever you need us to believe. The message isn’t subtle, but it works. AI desperately needs better regulation, though the film also quietly admits it’s probably already too late. No, this wouldn’t crack my 2025 Top Ten, and it’s a small step down from the original, but it’s still an entertaining ride. And honestly? I can see myself having fun with wherever this franchise decides to go next.
- Ashton Cole2026年1月26日A logical, though unscary, follow-up to the first film, M3GAN 2.0 is fun for its satirical look at how its characters deal with the AI uprising in all the worst ways. Allison Williams' Gemma is easily the smartest character in the cast, with her pivot into a stern advocate for AI regulation. Watching her continue to butt heads with Violet McGraw's Cady is delightful, especially when it becomes apparent M3GAN is still present and their only hope in stopping AMELIA. Speaking of AMELIA, with M3GAN as a reformed good guy in this one, it falls on Ukraine's Ivanna Sakhno to be the freaky killer robot in this one, and she does so quite convincingly. It's just unfortunate that they didn't make her every scene a little scarier. If M3GAN can't be as creepy because of her role reversal, you'd think they'd use AMELIA for that as much as possible. Not so. (Though there is some robot body horror during the film's climax, so be prepared to cringe!) Apart from its departure from horror, M3GAN 2.0 is genuinely fun and possesses a surprising level of depth as M3GAN questions whether we should judge people based solely on the worst thing they've ever done. It's honestly saddening this picture was a financial flop, and how SOULM8TE and potential future entries in the series will be negatively affected by the poor release strategy for this one.
- MrTrivet2026年1月22日M3GAN 2.0 clearly follows the path of action cinema, echoing the evolution of the T-800. The titular character is forced to confront the evil she caused earlier, but her morality is never fully redeemed. Likewise, M3GAN’s loyalty remains under constant scrutiny - both by the characters and by the film itself - virtually until the very end. The biggest departure from the first installment is the complete abandonment of horror in favor of flashy action straight out of a Friday-night TV movie block. The film clearly prioritizes style over substance - the dance sequence alone serves as an unmistakable wink to fans of the original. Despite this surface-level approach, M3GAN 2.0 still manages to raise pointed questions about the human–machine conflict, responsibility, and the limits of technological control. It’s a light, occasionally goofy film, but one that’s fully aware of its own conventions and ultimately comes out of this clash with its dignity intact.
