Love at First Bite Ratings & Reviews
- SoCalPete_July 14, 2025Love at First Bite (1979), directed by Stan Dragoti and written by Robert Kaufman, is a hilariously uplifting spin on the Dracula mythos, blending sharp comedy and campy charm with a stellar cast that elevates every scene. George Hamilton shines as a suave, disco-loving Count Dracula, navigating 1970s New York with deadpan wit, while Susan Saint James sparkles as his modern love interest, Cindy, and Richard Benjamin delivers sardonic laughs as her neurotic boyfriend. The film’s comedic brilliance is amplified by a talented ensemble, including Dick Shawn’s over-the-top hilarity, Arte Johnson’s unforgettable Renfield with his iconic cackle, and The Jeffersons stars Sherman Hemsley and Isabel Sanford adding extra flair. Packed with clever gags and a playful vibe, this vampire rom-com is a blood-suckingly delightful treat that never takes itself too seriously. A chldhood favorite, especially as a fan of horror movies, this one will always have a special placed tucked away in my funny bone.
- Jacob O’NealJuly 4, 2025This movie is better than Zorro, The Gay Blade. It’s actually quite funny but mot all the scenes had the kind of humor that ages well. It’s just fun and cameos were entertaining. Plus, George Hamilton, the man best known for his tan, plays Dracula. Talk about irony.
