Lolita Ratings & Reviews
- marka620November 1, 2025Better than I thought it would be. Quite sad at the end.
- Todd DaleAugust 10, 2025Pornography Accusations: While Adrian Lyne's Lolita was certainly controversial due to its subject matter and faced difficulties securing distribution in the United States, it was not considered pornography. According to The Wall Street Journal, lawyers hired by the producers vetted the film to ensure it remained within the bounds of decency. Some studios declined to distribute it, citing the risky subject matter and potential financial risks. It eventually aired on Showtime and received a limited theatrical release in the US.
- rajmoonlightApril 10, 2025The adaptation of the novel to film is disappointing. The novel depicted a 12 year old child and a predator. However the film attempts to persuade the viewer to empathise with the predator, and sexualises the child.
- CharlotteCOSMICOctober 18, 20240 stars. Horrible movie that should never have been made - better yet, not even been available nor listed online anywhere. Side note, i've heard the word 'lolita' in reference to a particular girlie street-fashion style, and that movie bares no resemblance to it nor the character lolita in anyway. I feel sorry for any girl who had that name before that stupid book/film was made.
