- Kevin Ward2d agoA fun 90’s meta-action thriller from the director that helmed Die Hard and Predator, two of the greatest action movies of all time. Last Action Hero isn’t nearly on that level but it’s definitely a fun romp. Arnold gets to poke fun at all his action movie tropes as well as Hollywood films in general. All the women are gorgeous, all phone numbers start with 555. I also love the idea that the bad guys realize that the real world is the only place they can actually get away with murder. The kid is better than Eddie Furlong in Terminator 2, but not by much. I feel like if those movies were made today, casting director’s would do a much better job. Lots of fun cameos in this one, all of which went completely over my kids heads. My daughter asked if Little Richard was Michael Jackson. 😬😬. They sure know how to make me feel old.
- Little_NeoJune 17, 2025Absolutely one of the best parody movies of all time! Yes it is over the top, cheesy, and predictable in many ways. THAT'S THE POINT! It's a parody of all the crazy over the top action and action/comedy movies of the 80s and 90s which happens to star one of the greatest action movie stars as all time, so Arnold is literally parodying himself. If you are watching this movie as a standalone action/comedy then you are viewing it from the wrong perspective to begin with.
- Bankzy101May 17, 2025Childhood classic, totally underrated movie with so many Easter eggs
- The Gutter MonkeyFebruary 3, 2025A smart, funny, and self-referential film that's both a homage to and a parody of the types of macho '80s-'90s action movies that were Arnie's bread and butter.
