L2: Empuraan Ratings & Reviews
- rk190810April 19, 2025Z, side kick director had ‘Salaar’ dreams. It was supposed to be L2 story. A movie that starts with a rioter and ends with its vengeance is more about Z with L stitched up on. When more and more intro scenes drag like an Amal Neerad slo mo you start losing patience and pray to get all over.
- ClefinApril 1, 2025Empuraan Movie Review: A Spectacle Worth Remembering Empuraan is a cinematic experience that sets a new benchmark in the Malayalam film industry. The production quality is absolutely top-notch, making every frame a visual delight. It is evident that great effort has been put into crafting a film that not only looks grand but also feels immersive. The story holds enough weight to create a lasting impact. While the first half unfolds at a slow pace, the second half justifies this build-up, making the overall narrative more engaging. The slower moments serve as stepping stones for a grander payoff, and by the time the movie reaches its peak, everything falls into place brilliantly. That being said, the introduction scenes, while impactful, still hold me closer to Lucifer. The connection with the prequel remains strong, and though Empuraan expands on that world, the intro sequences didn’t quite surpass the brilliance of Lucifer. However, where the movie truly excels is in its breathtaking forest scenes, which are nothing short of cinematic excellence. The visuals, atmosphere, and execution in those sequences elevate the film to another level. Overall, Empuraan is a film to be remembered—one that pushes the boundaries of Malayalam cinema and delivers a grand, well-crafted spectacle. Despite the slow start, the film justifies its pace and rewards the audience with an impactful second half. A must-watch for fans of Lucifer and Malayalam cinema alike!
